This product can be used to treat a variety of serious Gram-positive bacterial infections, including those who cannot use penicillins and other cephalosporins. This product can be used for Staphylococcus aureus infections that cannot be treated with penicillins and cephalosporins or with the above antibiotics, or for staphylococcal infections that are resistant to other antibiotics.
Teicoplanin has been shown to be effective against the following infections: skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, osteomyelitis, bone and joint infections, sepsis, endocarditis, and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis. This product can also be used for prevention when orthopedic surgery has a high risk factor for Gram-positive infection.
